Guest contribution by Isabelle Bartram, Tino Plümecke, and Susanne Schultz on DNA-Profiling

A revision of the DNA profile law will in future allow Swiss law enforcement agencies to expand DNA analyses to include the analysis of external characteristics as well as so-called "biogeographical origin". In a contribution to humanrights.ch - Menschenrechte Schweiz, the two SoSciBio members Isabelle Bartram and Tino Plümecke as well as Susanne Schultz from the Goethe University Frankfurt warn against the limited evidence of this technology and the dangers associated with it, such as racialisation and discrimination.
